Kim and Owen are our lifeline during the two weeks of rain we reported on in the last episode. They allow us to wait out the days until the next sunshine, and during this time Kim shows us not only her farm, but also a magical place full of glowworms. Kim also enables us to hike New Zealand’s most popular hiking trail, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. When the weather finally allows it again, we not only cross our 50,000 kilometer mark, but also reach the famous Timber Trail – an 80 kilometer bike path through remote forest areas, which boasts New Zealand’s longest and highest bike path suspension bridges. Finally, we reach Auckland, where our host Libby is a huge help with our flight preparations – for which we don’t have much time due to a spontaneous flight schedule change by Air New Zealand. Where is our flight going? We’ll find out in this episode!

We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
