For almost a thousand years, Mtskheta was the capital of the ancient empire of ‘Iberia’ – which of course has nothing to do with the Iberian Peninsula. In this episode, we tell you about our visit to the city and why a certain Nino and a Nana are responsible for the fact that this small city is still very important to Georgians today. We also talk about the impressive ‘Chronicle of Georgia’ monument and a brutal bank robbery that shook what is now Liberty Square in the Georgian capital in 1907. And last but not least, we interview our first Warmshowers guests Anaïs and Timothy here in Tbilisi about their cycling trip.
