The three tourist strongholds of Hatta, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the focus of this episode, and in between there is once again nothing but desert in the United Arab Emirates. The cities are tidy, glamorous and really have a lot to offer if you are able and willing to leave a bunch of money there. Because if you want to make yourself more independent from oil through tourism, it only works if you charge a lot of entrance fees for museums and parks and high prices in restaurants. With our budget, we have to pick a few things and focus on the few free attractions. We report on these in this episode, as well as on Carrefour supermarkets with an absurdly gigantic selection (especially if you have just come from the desert), on bans upon bans, on a dead sheep raining down, and on much more.
