Troy (with David) • Ottomans VI: World War I and Battle of Gallipoli

What we do not know about Troy

Published on 02.11.2022, 13:47 in Pamukkale, Turkey

This report’s podcast is only available in german: Was wir alles nicht über Troja wissen.

In this episode, we (or rather David) talk mainly about Troy: about the mythology behind it, about the archaeological site that is now advertised as Troy and that we visited, and about whether or not this is actually the same as the mythological Troy. But it is also about the very special Turkish tea culture, gas station toilets, how much tourism has arrived on the Turkish west coast (or not) and about the fact that we also sometimes have bad days with lousy mood. We also tell about the Battle of Gallipoli from the World War I, one of the most important battles of the Ottoman Empire, at the original locations. And last we make a little excursion from cycling, take the bus to Pamukkale and trudge through the eternal white.

We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!

We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)

See you again soon!
